Getting British Business Online – East London Businesses Go Online

We are in the age of web 2.0, businesses and customers are online more than ever before. Research by Google, Enterprise UK, BT, e-skills UK, show that and estimated number of 1.5 million businesses in the UK do not have a website and 41m people in the UK use the Internet. This means that many businesses are losing sales because their customers are online.

The truth is online visibility is the way to go in this generation. Let us take a close look at Social Media today.

The Business Online Directory partnered with ‘Getting British Business Online’, which is a joint initiative by Google, Enterprise UK, BT, e-skills UK and many other partners to help SME’s create their first website free and help them understand the importance and opportunities offered by the Internet. Businesses can no longer hide in the old way of marketing and promotion.

The Business Online Directory is working very closely with Barking and Dagenham Enterprise, Starting Point Barking, BDCVS Barking and Dagenham, Tower Hamlet College Employer services, East London Business Place, Barking and Dagenham Small Business Centre to provide support to Small Businesses in East London and Essex area. More than two-thirds of the UK population are online; we are here to give you the support you need, to get your business in front of new customers.

This campaign will run throughout the year until December 2010.

We also work with businesses that already have a website, so if you already have a site this is also for you, there are a range of tools that can help you improve your website, There are ways to attract new customers with a free listing on Google Maps, Other tools you can use are Google Analytics; PayPal. We explain it all in our workshops.
